Summer Camps 2017

This summer’s Dance Camps will offer something for all ages! All of our week-long camps will run from Monday through Friday, and will be either half day (9:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) or full day (9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) depending on the age of your child. Dancers will participate not only in dances, but also in activities such as acting, singing, scene design, and arts and crafts. Each camp will also perform a show for family and friends on Friday to showcase the art work created during the week and the dances they have learned! Dancers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and shoes (dance attire and shoes are not required) and bring a healthy snack, lunch, and plenty of water. (*No refrigerator or microwave is available, so plan accordingly)

A $50 deposit holds your place in camp with the remainder due the first day of camp. Click here to register! Early Drop Off is available upon request at a rate of $40 per week. It begins at 7:45AM daily.

Tutus & Tiaras” (1/2 Day)

June 26-30 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. $170

Ages: 3 to 6 years

All little girls want to dress up and be a princess for a day! This camp gives them the chance to be their favorite fairy tale princess and enjoy a week full of fun as they dance, sing, act, and create art projects to commemorate all the special moments they will share in the Lonestar Castle! The staff will teach the qualities that it takes to be a great princess and there may be some photo and autograph opportunities with real princesses during the week! Also on Friday, there will be a performance at 12:00 noon for family and friends to come and see all the hard work the dancers have put in during the week!

“Beach Blast” (Full day)

July 10-14 9:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. $240

Ages: 6 to 11 years

It’s summertime and it’s hot, so let’s dive into the sea to see what treasures we might find! Who knows? We may even encounter our favorite clown fish, Nemo, and his friends! This camp gives your child the chance to be everything from a mermaid to a beach bum and enjoy a week full of fun as they dance, sing, act, and create art projects to commemorate all the special moments they will share in the waves at Lonestar Beach! There will be plenty of “underwater” summer fun during this week! Also on Friday, there will be a performance at 4:00 for family and friends to come and experience our ocean wonderland!

“Ballet Intensive” (1/2 day)

July 17-21 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. $180

Ages: 8 years and up (with prior ballet experience)

Inspire your dancer with training from professionals who have danced all over the world and are among our esteemed and talented ballet instructors from our Lonestar Dance Center staff (check out their bios on our website’s staff page). This year’s featured ballet variations will include scenes from “Don Quixote.” Students will learn the stories, history, costuming, and more from this iconic ballet. A show-off for parents and friends will take place on Friday at 12:00 noon. Dress Code (female students): black leotard, pink tights, hair secured in a bun, pink leather ballet shoes Dress Code (male students): white fitted t-shirt or white leotard with black tights, dance belt, and black or white ballet shoes

“FROZEN Ice Princess Camp” (1/2 Day)July 17-21 9:00 a.m.-12:30 p.m. $170

Ages: 3 to 6 years

Spend the week with your favorite Ice Queen, Elsa, and her sister Anna! All little girls want to dress up and be a princess for a day! “Emoji Explosion” (Full day)

July 24-28 9:00 a.m. –4:30 p.m. $240

Ages: 6 to 11 years

Happy, sad, excited, in love! Emoji Explosion will use dancing, crafting, story telling and more to explore all the emotions that we express using our Emojis! Campers will dance to express themselves through several different emotions as well as make fun take-home crafts featuring the faces we have all grown to know and love! Also on Friday, there will be a performance at 4:00 for family and friends to come and experience our Emoji Explosion!

“Fabulous Fairies” (1/2 day)

July 31-August 4 9:00 a.m. –12:30 p.m. $170

Ages: 3 to 6 years

Do you believe in fairies? Then find your wings and come join your fellow fairies for a week full of fabulous fun! Fabulous Fairy camp gives your child the chance to believe in the magic of fairies and engage in activities including story time, singing/dancing, and glittering arts and crafts. There may even be a visit from the most fabulous, famous fairy herself—Tinkerbell! Also on Friday, there will be a performance at 12:00 noon for family and friends to come and visit the FairyForest that the dancers have created during the week!

“Hip Hop Dance Intensive” (Full day)

August 7-11 9:00 a.m. –4:30 p.m. $240

Ages: 8 to 18 years

Our Hip Hop Dance Intensive Camp will offer some of the best Hip Hop instruction from up and coming artists in the industry. Dancers will learn to develop their knowledge and skills in hip hop dance by learning how to increase their aesthetic awareness and performance quality. Technical skills include popping, locking, breaking, Hip Hop Social Dance, and many more. Learn how choreography can bring together ideas, moves and sequences into a routine for a show or audience; while also learning to increase your improvisational and freestyle skills by dancing with no limits allowing you to showcase your own personal skills and personality. We will explore the necessary conditioning for these varied forms, learn fun combinations, explore the culture and history accompanied with Hip Hop dance. Amazing guest teachers are sure to stretch dancers’ limits and expose them to many different styles. Friday will conclude with a performance of the combinations dancers learn during the week. This show-off will be at 4:00 for family and friends. Dancers for this full day camp should bring two snacks in addition to a lunch and plenty of water.
