Kate Evetts started her relationship with Lonestar Dance Center as an instructor in 2009 upon graduating from the University of Texas at Austin. As of August 2014, along with husband Cole, Kate became the proud new owner and director of Lonestar Dance Center. She is continually grateful for the traditions and values that are founded strongly in her dancers and is elated to continue building meaningful relationships with some amazing families.
Kate trained with Renee Hobson at Renee’s Dance Factory in Graham, TX until the age of 18. Back home she also acted, danced and choreographed for Graham Regional Theatre in such productions as Annie Get Your Gun and Oklahoma! Upon graduating high school she attended the University of Texas and became a member of, and eventual Captain/President of, The University of Texas Pom Squad, the official dance team of UT Athletics. Throughout college she also choreographed for and was featured in multiple theatre and film productions in addition to teaching at Texas Arts Project, a theater arts camp held here in Austin every summer.
Over the last 7 years Kate has built her repertoire of choreography in both competition and field routines for teams such as the Four Points MS Majestics, the Vandegrift HS Legacies, the Cedar Park HS Celebrities and several other area teams. She is passionate about giving kids the tools and confidence to express themselves through the art of dance and sees owning and directing Lonestar Dance Center as the best possible way to turn great kids into thoughtful teens and successful adults.
